Makenna Stergion (she/hers) is a singer/dancer/actor graduating with a degree in Musical Theatre at James Madison University. Makenna is a strong believer in the power of collaboration to tell meaningful stories that all audience members can relate to. Along with more intimate contemporary storytelling, she does love herself a good ol’ Mamma Mia mega-mix. Since Makenna started performing at age five in local theatre, she holds a special place in her heart for youth with the desire to be on stage. She has had the honor of teaching performing arts to underserved children through a 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant in her hometown. Makenna’s favorite aspect of being an artist in theatre is getting to collaborate with new people and experiencing the process as a team. It is a feeling unlike no other, seeing what amazing art can happen when so many wonderful theatre makers all utilize their own unique gifts in a room together. When she is not performing you can find her working in the costume shop, eating chicken nuggets, using the word “jawn” to refer to any item or person, and laughing at her own jokes (and hopefully making others laugh too). Makenna hopes to be remembered by the way she makes people feel and by always emulating a “chill vibe”.
