Hi! My name is Blake David Mitchell (they/them), and I am a Virginia based creative pursuing my BA in Musical Theatre at James Madison University. I am a multi-hyphenate artist with focuses in musical theatre performance, stage management, and playwriting. As a non-binary theatre maker, I am passionate about telling queer stories and making space for voices that are not always heard. I thrive in environments where I can use my platform to facilitate change and stand up against barriers that keep artists like myself from expressing our whole selves within our industry. I find it exciting to challenge my peers and colleagues in ways that honor the work they are doing, but also seeks out new and exciting ways to make theatre. But most importantly, I have an immense love for people. A love for community. A love for making welcoming and inclusive spaces. That is why I do this.
