Public Relations & Social Media, Dramaturgy

Celeste Black is an actress, dramaturg, playwright, graphic designer, and publicist from Manassas Park, VA.

She has always been involved in the arts since before she came to study Theatre at James Madison University, where she is currently enrolled as a theatre major with concentrations in performance and theatre studies. She has worked on over 10+ productions during her college career and is grateful for all she’s learned over the course of her career. Celeste is passionate about exploring the different tracks that theatre has to offer and is excited to graduate and explore these tracks professionally.

During her final year at JMU, she has been working as the social media manager and recruitment coordinator for JMU Theatre. You can find some of her work on the Instagram page. Celeste has also produced one of her full-length plays, called How to Take Care of Your Flower, this past fall, where she served as the production dramaturg and intimacy coordinator. She takes pride in the dramaturgical work she did for that production, which entailed two full dramaturgical websites. One of the sites contains information about the play itself, while the other focuses on the production itself and the dramaturgy display she designed for it.
