Owen Buckenmaier

Hey! My name is Owen Buckenmaier, but some of my friends call me Obuck.

I’m a graduating senior at James Madison University and somehow I still can’t believe it. It feels like just yesterday that I was doing community theatre in Richmond, VA after school. But four years at JMU have helped me learn a lot about myself and my art, and I’m absolutely STOKED to have the opportunity to make art professionally for the rest of my life.

For me, theatre and performance started as pure fun. It was something to fill my time with and something that brought me joy with each new show. But as I matured and sought new performance opportunities,I became obsessed with the challenge of learning each and every new character.

CHALLENGE is an important word to me, and I think that’s what drives every part of the art I like to create. I want to develop challenging characters, I want to challenge every part of an audience’s understanding of the world, and I want to accept each and every challenge that comes my way.

I’ve had experience in a lot of different performance mediums including theatre, film, commercials, voiceovers, and various individual projects. I’ll continue to jump at any opportunity to perform, but I hope to move to Los Angeles in the very near future to pursue my interest in film acting.
