Maria Carpinelli

Puppetry

Maria Carpinelli (she/her) is a musical theatre performer, educator, deviser, solo performer, and puppeteer who is incredibly passionate about new and interesting work that focuses on themes of connection and humanity.

She wholeheartedly believes in the power of art making and is honored to be a part of it. In her time in undergrad, Maria has had the pleasure of performing on a traditional proscenium, in the collegiate collaboratively run black box, outside of campus in partially devised work, and professionally in the Richmond metro area. She has spent the last year and a half completing her senior thesis in theatre for young audiences and solo performance where she wrote, produced, puppet designed, and performed a 45 minute theatre for young audiences show. When she's not in the theater, Maria loves attending niche concerts for less than $20 and watching Lost with her roommates.
