Theresa Carpinelli
Dramaturgy
Theresa Carpinelli (she/her) is a dramaturg, museum professional, and interdisciplinary theatre artist trained in direction, design, management, and performance born and raised in Richmond, Virginia.
Theresa is deeply committed to collaborative, educational, cross-disciplinary, and funky artistic processes that foreground queer and feminist stories. Throughout her undergraduate experience, Theresa has served as production dramaturg, new work dramaturg, and script reader at the Forbes Center for the Performing Arts, the JMU Studio Theatre, and in the greater Virginia community. She has been recognized for her dramaturgical work and awarded the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas Early Career Dramaturg Award through the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Region II for her work on Sunday in the Park with George at JMU. Following her graduation with her degree in art history, museum studies, and theatre, she will be joining the Williamstown Theatre Festival for the summer as an Audience Engagement Assistant.
